When Are Bin Rentals Charged?

“Do I pay bin rental fees on top of my waste service charges?”

The answer depends on your collection schedule. Here’s how it works.

Bin Rentals Included in Regular Services

For most customers, bin rental is already included in your service price.

• If your bin is collected once a month or more often, the quoted price includes:

  • Bin rental

  • Collection charge

  • Disposal/recycling charge

• This means there are no extra bin rental fees on top of your regular service costs.

When Bin Rental Fees Apply

Bin rental fees only apply when bins are collected less than once per month.

• If your collection frequency is every 2 months or every 3 months, a rental fee is charged.

• The rental fee is invoiced every month, regardless of whether a collection occurs.

• In months where a collection takes place, your invoice will include both the rental fee and the collection fee.

👉 As of the date of writing, Waster charges $19.95 + GST per bin, per month for bins on less-than-monthly schedules.

Example: Confidential Paper Bins

A common example is confidential paper bins:

• These are often serviced on a 2-monthly or 3-monthly collection schedule.

• Each month, you will see a $19.95 + GST rental fee per bin on your invoice.

• In the months when the bin is collected, the collection fee will be added alongside the monthly rental.

This keeps invoicing clear and ensures fairness for customers with less frequent collection needs.

Why This Policy Exists

The bin rental policy is designed to:

• Keep pricing all-inclusive for bins collected monthly or more frequently.

• Ensure bins are maintained and accounted for even when on-site for longer periods without collection.

• Provide clarity and predictability in billing for less frequent services.
