What Can and Can't Go in a Skip Bin? Bni

Skip bins are a good option for bulky, heavy, or short-term waste. You can use them for cleanouts, renovation waste, construction materials, and some types of green waste.

What can go in a skip bin

Common accepted items include:

  • Bricks, concrete, rubble, tiles, and timber
  • Furniture and bulky waste
  • Green waste such as branches, soil, and garden cuttings when booked as a green waste skip
  • Mixed general waste from a cleanout or project

What cannot go in a skip bin

The following items should not go in a skip bin:

  • Hazardous waste such as asbestos, chemicals, paints, fuels, oils, or medical waste
  • Food and liquid waste
  • Gas bottles and fire extinguishers
  • E-waste such as TVs, computers, and some electrical appliances

Important notes

Some items may need special approval or may attract extra charges depending on the waste type and location. Mattresses, carpets, and some heavier items can fall into this category.

If you are unsure about a waste item, contact Waster before booking or loading the skip.

Pricing

One-off skip bin pricing may be available online for some metro areas.

For ongoing skip bin services, pricing is on request.
