Billing Monthly in Arrears Explained

Understanding why your Waster invoice is issued after services are completed

At Waster, all recurring waste and recycling services are billed monthly in arrears. This means you are invoiced after the services have been delivered, not before.

What Does β€œIn Arrears” Mean?

  • Services completed in one month are invoiced in the following month.

  • Example: Services delivered in December β†’ invoice issued in January.

  • If your bin is first delivered on 1 January, your first invoice (covering January services) will be issued in February.

This ensures you are only billed for the services you have already received.

Weekly Services Example

If you have a weekly bin collection, the number of services in a month depends on how many service days fall in that month:

  • A month with 4 collection weeks β†’ 4 pickups charged

  • A month with 5 collection weeks β†’ 5 pickups charged

Your invoice will always reflect the actual number of services performed.

Important Exception

πŸ‘‰ This monthly in-arrears billing does not apply to one-off services or one-off skips.
These are billed separately at the time of service.

Invoice Timing

  • Invoices are issued around the 5th–8th business day of the following month.

  • All invoices are delivered electronically via email.
